On these pages you can find the names of our ancestors and their relatives, and their generation- and identificationnumbers.
The generationnumber indicates to which generation of descendants of the oldest forfather a person belongs.
If this person has generated male descendants untill today, he will return in the next generation with his own independent lineage.
All forfathers with descendant namesakes have 2 generationnumbers : they are first mentioned as a child of their father, and in the next generation as the father of their own children.

the genealogical tables of the Verroken-Verhoken-Verhoeke family
The numbering we apply differs slightly from the one Erik Verroken used in "de genealogie van de familie Verroken (1379 - 1993)".
The first (Roman) digit indicates to which generation of descendants of Johannes de le Roke a person belongs.
From the 13th generation onwards, the second character, the letter B or M, indicates if this persons belongs to the Berchem or the Melden branch of the Verroken family.
In the 17th generation, the Berchem branch splits up into the branch B1, the Berchem Verroken branch, and the branch B2, the Berchem Verhoken branch, which is later on divided in the B2a branch : the Verhoken-Verhoeke family living in the north of France, and the B2b branch : the Verhoken family living in Belgium.
The Melden branch splits up in the 17th generation as well, into the 3 branches M1, M2 and M3, which are later on divided into the branches M1a, M1b, M2a, M2b, M2c, M3a, M3b and M3c.
The identificationnumber provides information on a persons ascendance : he or she is or was the second child of the third child of the first child .... of Johannes de le roke.
In order to know to which generation of descendants of the earliest forfather this person belongs, one can count the number of characters used to form the identificationnumber.
